18, October 1985 - life began out in the township of Gugulethu, Cape Town, South Africa. My career started when I was spotted walking home from swim class. A year later I was touring Asia with Les Miserable in the role of Gavroshe! Coming home I went back to my speech and drama lessons, shot a million ads and then of course I still had to wash dishes for my Mom.

The highlight of that time was performing for Nelson Mandela's birthday party in 1996 and having the man himself put his hand on my shoulder and ask me to take a seat at his own table!??After that, high school (and puberty) kept me mostly off the screen. Instead I focused on theatre, sports and dance. I had the most inspiring drama teacher at school, in the form of Mr Harris. My love of theatre really developed in those years. After school I did some odd jobs in the film industry for a while and then I went to New York. I worked hard in NY (I even scrubbed toilets to earn cash) but I loved every minute of being there.
I had to come home eventually to go through my initiation to become a man - according to our traditional Xhosa culture. It was tough, but I am glad I did it. I've been working back in South Africa since then - landed some amazing jobs with amazing people and now I'm trying my hand at radio! Watch this space..
